The Great Jelly Roll Race
The Jelly Roll Race will be a fun evening. There is a $5 entry fee; this fee includes pizza and soft drinks which will be here at 5:30. You will have time to eat, get your machine set up and get in race mode. The race will begin between 6:30 and 7:00. There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize awarded and you will go home with a finished quilt top from one jelly roll.
The $5 entry fee secures your space – Space is limited so sign up early.
Supply List:
One jelly roll or forty – 2 1/2” strips the width of fabric (42” long).
Sewing machine in good working order
3 full bobbins
1 spool of thread
scissors
Pre-race instructions:
For this event you will need all 40 of the 2 1/2” strips sewn together on a
diagonal into one long strip before you come to the race.
(Like sewing strips together for binding). The strip will be approximately
1600 inches long. If your jelly roll has more than one of the same fabric
I suggest separating them so not to sew two of the same strip together end to
end.
